On Tuesday 4 July the diocesan education team held the first ever Pilgrim Worship Event in Wells Cathedral. A second event will take place at St Mary Magdalene’s in Taunton on Thursday 6 July.
Over 200 children and 50 adults will attend the two events linked to the more well known Pilgrim Days which take place in March and June.
Said Helen Fenn, Deputy Director of Education for the diocese, “Moving on to secondary school is an important step for every Yr6 pupil. The aim of these services is to offer the opportunity for all children to engage with others, either within the diocesan cathedral at Wells or in a church more local and familiar to them.
Based on the theme of pilgrimage and our journey through school as well as life, these worship events have been put together by the diocesan education team and clergy to make sure that we send our Yr6 children onto the next stage of their educational journey, confident that God is always with them.”
