bath & wells: services for children and young people schools & colleges
school profile
As you are aware, governors are no longer required to produce an annual governors’ report. This has been replaced by the on line School Profile. It is, of course, the governors’ responsibility to prepare and publish the profile (details of how to do this can be obtained from the DfES website – www.dfes.gov.uk).
As well as the relevant statistical information the profile has a section summarising the latest Ofsted report and several narrative sections completed by the school. Although the narrative sections are limited in space to as little as 100 - 200 words it is imperative to highlight your church school foundation. Below are some suggestions.
What have been our successes this year?
Church foundation developments eg increased visits to the church/visitors, RE weeks, special church partnership activities including worship.
What are we trying to improve?
Include church foundation plans, areas for development from SIAS report.
How do we make sure our pupils are healthy, safe and well supported?
Include spiritual health and how this is supported by the school ethos.
What activities are available to pupils?
Include church/school activities, RE trips/visitors/activities, extended services.
How are we working with the parents and the community?
Include church links, seasonal celebrations, parents invited to collective worship, joint church/school projects, events etc.
If you have had your SIAS?
How did you do and how did you respond?
