The Education Department

'That they may have life, life in all its fullness' John 10:10

Your Diocesan Education Department, which has its base in the Old Deanery, Wells, is a team of professional and support staff, dedicated to the mission of the diocese, serving all who work with children and young people, whether in parishes and deaneries or schools and colleges. All work within the context of government legislation, but interpret this in the light of gospel imperatives. Regular newsletters from the department, in hard copy and online, communicate current news and forthcoming events.

There are many acronyms used in conversation and documents relating to education.  For an explanation of those most commonly used click here - Acronyms for Education.

All members of the department work collaboratively and there are now a number of projects in support of the 'Changing Lives' strategy, to which officers and support staff from all teams contribute. For example, an agreed Protocol to support and inspire School/Parish partnerships is now in circulation and can be downloaded from the Changing Lives 'toolkit'.
