LEADING AND GROWING HOUSE GROUPS

This course develops skills in leading groups of Christians who come together to grow in relationship with God and with each other. It is predominantly for new house and home group leaders. However existing leaders will also find the course helpful not just in terms of core skills but also as regards enabling growth. The course covers:

• The purposes, and benefits of house groups

• Assessing the group's learning needs and selecting learning approaches

• The role, characteristics and behaviours of effective group leaders

• How to guide groups effectively

• How to deal with common issues

• How to start and grow house groups

There is a pre-course questionnaire on learning styles to complete and the course uses group discussion and feedback. The programme comprises two sessions of two hours and a review session about six months later of about 90 minutes, making three sessions in all.
