Discovering Gifts
This course looks at how Christians can discover the gift that God has given them. It also seeks to enable each person and the group to grow in relationship with God and with each other. It is for any Christian person, however some Christians who already know the call of God in their lives may find the course covers the basics of discovering gifts.
After the programme participants will be able to
- Identify more clearly the gift God has given them
- Be aware of themselves, others and God as a source of identifying gifts
- Be more confident to use their gifts in the service of the world, the church and each other
- Find the motivation to serve God in the communities they belong to
- Describe some biblical models of ‘calling’
The course involves discussion and times of quiet reflection, bible study handouts and a questionnaire. It concludes with an exploration of the diocesan 'Models of Ministry for Local Ministry Groups' booklet.
Please note that this is an interim short course of two sessions. A more in depth course is being prepared by the Vocations team of the diocese which will involve a taster session then a number of modules exploring vocations and gifting. It is hoped to pilot this in the early part of the autumn, 2006, and after review, offer it more widely in 2007.
