Role & core activities 

The role of the Parish and Deaneries Advisers is to: 

  • Support, encourage and resource all those who work with children and young people in faith based settings.
  • Provide high quality training to all those who work with children and young people in faith based settings.
  • Communicate through:
    • Reports, publications and ITC
    • Speaking engagements and presentations
    • Leading worship
    • Internal and external committees and structure 
  • Oversee the selection, recruitment and employment of paid workers, student placements and gap-year volunteers.   
  • Host and be involved in:
    • Youth/children's events
    • Conferences for youth/children's leaders
    • Residential experiences
    • Christian events and festivals hosted by others
    • Overseas exchanges
    • Schools work and higher and further education
  • Ensure children and young people are heard and can participate across the Diocese and influence service provision.
  • Influence, shape and implement policy in line with Government and Church law and legislation at local and national levels
  • Work in partnership with other service providers locally, regionally and nationally in the provision of services for children and young people.
