Role & core activities
The role of the Parish and Deaneries Advisers is to:
- Support, encourage and resource all those who work with children and young people in faith based settings.
- Provide high quality training to all those who work with children and young people in faith based settings.
- Communicate through:
- Reports, publications and ITC
- Speaking engagements and presentations
- Leading worship
- Internal and external committees and structure
- Oversee the selection, recruitment and employment of paid workers, student placements and gap-year volunteers.
- Host and be involved in:
- Youth/children's events
- Conferences for youth/children's leaders
- Residential experiences
- Christian events and festivals hosted by others
- Overseas exchanges
- Schools work and higher and further education
- Ensure children and young people are heard and can participate across the Diocese and influence service provision.
- Influence, shape and implement policy in line with Government and Church law and legislation at local and national levels
- Work in partnership with other service providers locally, regionally and nationally in the provision of services for children and young people.
