School buildings & capital

The Diocese owns almost all permanent church school buildings at both voluntary-aided and voluntary controlled church schools. At voluntary-aided schools, the governors have the responsibility for their buildings and the Diocese offers a range of advice, guidance and services to help ensure that schools are maintained and developed to best educational effect.

Some practical assistance in relation to buildings and grant claims is offered in conjunction with The Hookway Partnership.

Funding streams

The Diocese works with schools and its partner local authorities to maximise the benefit of capital funding streams. Most voluntary-aided schools bank their Devolved Formula Capital Grant (DFCG) with the Diocese.
