Bishop Peter Maurice - biography
Peter Maurice became Bishop of Taunton in 2006, after three years as Archdeacon of Wells and a Canon of Wells Cathedral.
Bishop Peter is married to Liz and they have three adult chuldren.
He trained for the ministry at Mirfield and, before coming to Somerset, was in Southwark Diocese. He was a curate in Wandsworth before serving in parishes in Mortlake, Rotherhithe and Tooting.
Bishop Peter shares an office and support staff with the Bishop of Bath and Wells at the Bishop's Palace in Wells.
