Stewardship - resources for your mission
These days, people need to understand more about giving and resourcing mission in their church. We're here to help with that.
The role of the Stewardship department, working with the Parish Stewardship Group and our Honorary Stewardship Advisers, is to work with parishes in any of the following kinds of situations:
• A PCC reviewing giving in the light of their current or expected financial situation
• A Standing Committee thinking about a major (capital) appeal for a specific project
• A home-group or study series about stewardship
• A Sunday service with a theme of giving, commitment, time and talents or the Christian use of money
But one-off sermons or addresses may not be effective unless tied into an ongoing programme of thinking about God’s gifts to us and how we use them!
On these pages you'll find a wealth of information and guidance on issues of use of money and wealth in the Christian church and tips on how to encourage giving in a range of ways from church members.
Resources & links categorises tailored resources for speakers, special appeals and giving, plus information about our some of our basic services, as well as links to national online resources.
Giving for Life is the Church of England's current major stewardship project, aimed at helping PCCs encourage generous giving amongst church members.
Recession help includes a checklist to help parishes manage their finances through the recession, a downloadable booklet and web resources for helping your church community to cope with the recession.
