Local Ministry Groups and Teams (LMGs and LMTs) were set up in the diocese to resource local ministry. They are clusters of parishes and benefices, working mutually and sharing resources.
In the past, some clergy operated a ‘lone-ranger’ model of ministry. Some congregations prefered it that way – the vicar holding the vision and doing all the ministry. Today clergy have to operate in conjunction with other community leaders such as headteachers, doctors and health care professionals. Local Ministry Groups and Teams encourage leaders, both ordained and lay to work together to ensure ‘no-one alone’.
The range of courses we run can be found on the Developing teams page. Contact Caroline Bruce for more information.
