Bishop visits Hinkley Point construction site

Last week the Bishop of Bath & Wells, Rt Revd Peter Hancock met with EDF executives at Hinkley Point. The purpose of the visit was to find out more about progress on the new power station at Hinkley Point and to get a sense of the full scale of the project.

Speaking of his visit, Bishop Peter said, “The construction of Hinkley C is going to involve thousands of people – overall the size of the population of a small town. I’m keen to learn more about the potential impact on our local communities so that I can look into how the church might best support and serve existing residents and the new arrivals in this time of great change for our county.”
