Trio of designs from schools win Christmas card competition

Now in its third year, the competition to designed a Christmas card for the Education Department Christmas cards proved more popular than ever. Competition was tougher than ever and it was so hard to choose a winner that three winning designs have been used this year.

Tess Gale, Director of Education, said; “Each year we send out out over 300 Christmas cards and it’s a joy to be able to share artwork by the children in our schools with friends and colleagues in the diocese. We were particularly delighted to receive designs from Wadham C of E Community Secondary School as with only six secondary schools in the diocese, it is particularly special for them to be represented. The simple but striking image of the stable over the music to ‘Away in a Manger’ is firm favourite.

Designs from Preston C of E Primary (right) and Staplegrove Church School (middle) were chosen for their colourful designs and the hopeful messages that they convey.
