St Peter’s is once again holding their Star Trail costumed performance of the Christmas Story.
The interactive adventure allows children to follow the route of the wise men to Bethlehem. They meet characters on the way who help them to understand the wonder of the wise men’s gifts and the purpose of their journey.
The trail begins in a Bedouin tent where children are met by volunteers who prepare them for their journey. They then set off on a starlit trail which engages their attention as they meet characters who have something to relate about the events they have come to observe. Finally they return to the tent to complete craft activities as they wait for the remainder of the group to assemble.
This popular event has grown every year. The Church reaches out to the local schools and community but also has visitors from further afield. Initially presented for children, they have sessions during the school day for booked school classes, and then welcome family members to public sessions on the evening of Thursday, 30 November evening and the morning of Saturday, 2 December.
