Diocese welcomes new Giving and Funding Adviser

We’re delighted to welcome Gary Watson who joins the diocese as Giving and Funding Adviser. Gary is relocating to Somerset from the Midlands with his family and has taken this opportunity to introduce himself.

“I’m a 46 year-old northerner, husband of Carol and father of two teenage girls, Ciara & Amelia. My family and I will be relocating from the Midlands to Somerset to take up this post so we’re very excited to be coming to such a beautiful part of the country!

“I feel called to help others grow in their experience and understanding of God, so I’m delighted to be joining the discipleship team in Bath & Wells! I’m hoping my passion for seeing people flourish in their faith and my experience of resourcing projects and businesses in the voluntary sector can combine to help strengthen the church and engage more in our mission as we live and tell the story of Jesus.”

Discipleship Team Leader, Julia Hill says, “We are delighted to be welcoming Gary to the team as we know that he will bring  much needed expertise to parishes who face the challenge of finding the money needed to resource their mission.

“Gary’s title will be Giving and Funding Adviser, recognising that he will be supporting parishes both with reviewing their giving and looking with them at funding capital projects.  We look forward to working with Gary and benefiting from his skills to provide the support that parishes want and need.”
