The National Churches Trust (NCT) has invited churches whom it had awarded a Repair or Community Grant in 2018 to inform them if they needed any additional funding to start work on their project. Among the four shortlisted is Isle Brewers in the Diocese of Bath and Wells. Anyone can help them win the grant.
Those who become a Friend of the National Churches Trust are able to choose which church they think should be awarded an additional £10,000. Anyone who wants to can become a ‘Friend’, and once they are they can take part in the vote.
The four churches shortlisted are:
- All Saints, Isle Brewers, Somerset
- St Cynbryd, Llandulas, Conwy
- St Michael, Kirkby Thore, Cumbria
- St Just, St Just-in-Penwith, Cornwall
Voting closes at 5pm on Friday 23 August.
“The restoration of this rather unique Victorian Church has been a true labour of love for this small community of Isle Brewers. A great deal of effort has gone into securing financial support from generous organisations such as yourselves, yet after amassing a magnificent amount of money we remain just short of our final goal. A fantastic project where we are all now working very hard to try and close that last financial gap, so any additional assistance that could be considered would be gratefully received as it will help leave a Community legacy that will last for generations to come.” John Boulter
