United in prayer

Members of St Margaret’s Anglican church in Tokyo, Japan have included the diocese of Bath and Wells in their daily prayers. In an email to Bishop Peter, members of St Margaret’s said:

“Because of the Coronavirus, we are gathering on line for the daily morning prayers. This morning we prayed for you and for the diocese of Bath & Wells, following the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, especially at this time of great challenges. May God bless you and all the members of Bath & Wells Diocese.”

It is more than six thousand miles from Wells to Tokyo, but the distance is short when united in prayer. In his reply, Bishop Peter said: “In Bath and Wells we are very aware that we are part of a global church and we rejoice in our links through the Anglican Communion. Today would have been the day we would have welcomed bishops from across the communion at what would have been the beginning of the hospitality before the Lambeth Conference. So our thoughts are very much with the world-wide church today.

May the Lord bless you and watch over you and lead you through these uncertain times.”
