Would you like the opportunity to join a party of pilgrims travelling to the Holy Land from the Cheddar Valley between 1 and 10 February 2021 on a pilgrimage led by Revd Stuart Burns of the Cheddar Benefice and Revd Richard Neill of the Benefice of the Isle of Wedmore?
Revd Stuart says, “St Jerome called a pilgrimage to the Holy Land ‘The Fifth Gospel’ – a pilgrimage there can be a life-changing and faith-transforming experience. Staying in Jerusalem and Galilee, we will visit many of the sites that have shaped our Christian story. To kneel at Calvary in Jerusalem, bow down to enter the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem or gaze from the Mount of Beatitudes across the Sea of Galilee are experiences that will stay with you forever and change how you read the scriptures and approach your faith, and we would love others from across the diocese to be able to join us as we tread in the footsteps of Jesus.”
The group will travel with McCabe Pilgrimages, who have been providing pilgrimages to the Holy Land for church groups for thirty-seven years.
Revd Stuart adds, “McCabe Pilgrimages will look after us well. They have assured us that at the moment pilgrimages booked for 2021 will go ahead. They are in regular touch with us and will advise us if the coronavirus situation changes in Israel and on any measures we may need to take to remain as safe as possible. Our dedicated local guide will be aware of local circumstances and guidelines and be able to bring their great expertise both to enhance our pilgrimage and enable us to stay safe.”
Stuart (01934 743649) or Richard (01934 713566) would welcome a conversation with you if you would like to know more. Email Stuart to be sent the brochure with further details.
