The Go Team were joined online by youth & children’s workers and church leaders from across the Diocese for their autumn Inspire events. The three sessions entitled ‘All Things Change’ were the first to take place using Zoom and whilst the team missed getting out on the road and meeting in person, the sessions were a great opportunity to share encouraging stories and creative ideas, as well as some of the challenges and frustrations of this time.
Andy Levett, Go Team Adviser for Taunton Archdeaconry commented: ‘Our lives have changed and so has our work with young people and their families. Covid has and will change our ministry going forward and we wanted to offer an opportunity to gather, reflect and be inspired afresh for this vital work.’
Each session began with worship led by the Movement band and a reminder that amidst all the change our God remains the same. The team then premiered three short videos from practitioners around the Diocese, looking at aspects of work with children, young people and families. After each one, delegates joined Breakout Rooms to discuss what they’d heard and share wisdom and ideas. The fourth and final talk explored ideas for Advent and Christmas with a particular focus on households and our local communities.
The three videos are available to watch below or go to the Diocese of Bath and Wells Youtube channel and a variety of resources can be found on the website. New resources include 12 Ideas for Advent & Christmas 2020 put together by the Go Team and the It’s Christmas! Bible Chat Mat illustrated by Andy Gray.
Last week also saw the official launch for Year B of the LecDeck youth resource which is available as a pack of cards and as a new app for Android and Apple iOS.
