Bishop of Bath & Wells, Peter Hancock

The Rt Revd Peter Hancock was formally installed as Bishop of Bath and Wells at Wells Cathedral on 7th June 2014. He lives at the Bishop’s Palace and works there alongside the Bishop of Taunton. He is due to retire in May 2021.

Bishop of Taunton, Ruth Worsley

The Rt Revd Ruth Worsley was formally installed as Bishop of Taunton at Wells Cathedral on 3rd October 2015. She works alongside the Bishop of Bath and Wells in Wells.

Our two bishops and their office staff work together from the Bishops’ Office at the historic Bishop’s Palace in Wells.

The support team manage their diaries and correspondence and assist with their pastoral, liturgical, and public ministries in support of the mission of the Church.

The Bishops’ Office is usually open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Closed at lunchtime. Postal correspondence can be sent to The Bishops’ Office, The Bishop’s Palace, Wells, BA5 2PD. Telephone: 01749 672341.
