The way registered users access personal information for those who work for/in the Diocese of Bath and Wells has changed.
The diocese has joined other dioceses in the UK and subscribed to a new online database system which offers easier access to online diocesan information, as well as other Church of England websites such as Parish Buying and A Church Near You.
The new web based system replaces the old Parishinfo system which will no longer be available to use from 22 April 2016. Access is subject to authorisation by a diocese.
To use the new system you will need to sign up for a new user ID and password. You can download simple instructions on how to set up that new user ID below .
Once you have your new user ID and password then simply go to the https://cofeportal.org and follow the steps detailed in the guide.
Once you have access to the database you will be able to set your own privacy settings and update your own records. You can add different permissions to different parts of your record.
- Public – The database will be available via the website to anyone who has been granted access to the database in this diocese or in another diocese
- Diocese – This is the same level set by the existing data protection form which is ‘Directory’ (only someone approved by the diocese and is in a role within our churches or diocese can see your data)
- Private – This is the same level set by the existing data protection form which is ‘withheld’ (only limited staff at the diocesan office can see your information)
Data protection forms completed by registered users of the old database system are still valid but anyone who would like to change the way the diocese uses their data can download a new form below.
