Exploring Chaplaincy is an opportunity for formation and training in chaplaincy. For all who are exploring chaplaincy… lay or ordained, younger or older, of all Christian churches. This is an opportunity to explore Chaplaincy that can happen near you. It can be eight individual sessions, two full days or anything in between, it can also adapted to your context. Chaplaincy Development Adviser, Mike Haslam, is very happy to meet with local leaders and adapt and arrange to meet the needs of each local context.
The training covers:
Session 1: Values and Ethos of Chaplaincy: Distinctive and Inclusive Christian Presence
Session 2: Chaplaincy Day by Day, a reflection on John 4
Session 3: Listening
Session 4: Chaplaincy Visit: This will be agreed at mutual convenience, between each and an existing chaplain. We will help you arrange this.
Session 5: Events, crises and celebrations – the more public aspects of chaplaincy
Session 6: Re-thinking resilience: a reflection on 2 Corinthians
Session 7: Reflective Practice and Peer Supervision
Session 8: Commissioning and Day 1
The next sessions taking place are listed below:
Venue: Zoom (8 sessions)
Time: 19:00 – 20:45
Anyone who is interested in exploring a vocation within Chaplaincy, or understanding more about chaplaincy would be very welcome.
If you have missed the first session, or would need to miss one of the others, you’d still be welcome to join us. Please contact Mike Haslam if this applies to you or if you have any other questions about Exploring Chaplaincy.
