Saving souls or saving seals

22nd Apr : 10:00 to 16:00

To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth

With increasing awareness of the multiple threats facing the environment, what role should and can local churches play? We’ll start the day by looking at the biblical basis for creation care and some of big issues facing God’s earth – locally and globally. Using the five ‘strands’ of Eco Church – worship and teaching, buildings, land, community and global engagement, and lifestyle, we will consider how caring for the environment can be expressed in the life of churches and individuals, with practical examples and plenty of time for discussion.

Caroline Pomeroy is the Director of Christian environmental charity Climate Stewards, and Environmental Consultant to the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
