A weekend of celebrations as 12 new Priests and 6 new Deacons are ordained

People from across the diocese, and many from further afield, gathered this weekend in celebration and thanksgiving as 18 people were ordained, marking the beginning of new ministries across Bath and Wells.

Windrush Service at Christ Church Bath

Meet our new ordinands

Petertide ordinations will take place on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June across our diocese. Twelve people are being ordained as priests and six as deacons.

A prayer following the Yeovilton helicopter crash

Our armed forces are an integral part of our community in Bath and Wells and the death of three Royal Naval personnel in the Yeovilton helicopter crash in Devon is a cause of deep sorrow for us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragic incident.

Jo Stobart to be next Archdeacon of Wells

Jo Stobart is to be the next Archdeacon of Wells and Residentiary Canon of Wells Cathedral. She will succeed Anne Gell who stepped down earlier this month after nine years in the role. Jo will be returning to Bath and Wells in the late autumn.

It has been announced that the Revd Dr Ian Mills is to be the next Rector of Bath Abbey. Ian is currently the Rector of Benefice of Chew Valley West and Area Dean of Chew Magna in the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
