Archdeacons

The diocese is divided into three geographical areas, Bath Archdeaconry, Taunton Archdeaconry and Wells Archdeaconry, each led by an archdeacon with day-to-day oversight of practical church life, as well as pastoral care. They work closely with the bishops and other colleagues to ensure local support.

Each archdeacon has an Archdeaconry Assistant and a team of people from support services who work mainly in that archdeaconry area. Those staff work alongside colleagues around our diocese to provide a range of expertise for parishes, schools and chaplaincies. Below are some key contacts for each Archdeaconry.
