Pilgrim Days & Pilgrim Worship Events

Update on Yr4 and Yr6 Pilgrim Days and Pilgrim Worship Events for 2021:

The Pilgrim Days Planning Group met earlier this term to look at Pilgrim Days and Worship Events for 2021. In the current circumstances with Covid 19, it was decided that it would be better to offer a Virtual Pilgrim Day in June for Yr4 and Yr6 children as it would be impossible to maintain social distancing and the necessary hygiene practices in order to run the Pilgrim Days as we know them. Further information will be sent directly to schools in due course. Although it is very sad that we have had to make this decision, please be reassured that it is with the safety and wellbeing of your school communities in mind. We look forward to sharing the virtual offer with you in the summer term.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to email with any queries.

Yr4 Pilgrim Days

An opportunity for Year 4 children in their final year of first school to meet together in their cathedral to think about pilgrimage, journeys and special places. We open and close the day by worshiping together and in between children take part in workshops including; a cathedral tour, active theatre, music, craft and story.

Year 6 Pilgrim Days

An opportunity for Year 6 children from primary and junior Church schools to attend a Pilgrim Day event and meet together in their Cathedral as they prepare to move on to secondary school. We open and close the day by worshipping together and, in between, children take part in workshops including a tour of the Cathedral or Bishop’s Palace, theatre, music, art, history, environment and world issues.

Yr4 & Yr6 Pilgrim Worship Events

An opportunity for either Year 4 or Year 6 children, moving on to middle or secondary school, to meet together in worship and take part in activities in different churches across the diocese.
