Vicar – The Athelney Benefice (Burrowbridge, Lyng North Curry and Stoke St Gregory)

Are you someone who can bring joy and work miracles?

That is what the pupils at our Primary Schools said when asked about a new vicar. We are a new rural benefice of four villages, close to the county town of Taunton. We are praying for a vicar who will inspire and guide us. Our Vision is to develop deeper faith and spirituality, create an ever-closer Benefice, and extend our outreach by being a warm, friendly and inclusive place of peace.

Key responsibilities:

To lead us in achieving our vision, deliver pastoral care to the wider community and be mission focused.

What will you be like?

We hope you will be approachable and friendly; passionate about building engagement with younger people, supportive of tradition but prepared to try new things, aware of the opportunities and challenges of rural life, and for the children (and adults) bring joy and work miracles.

What will you find here?

We offer you supportive church communities, dedicated Readers and Lay Worship assistants and a modern vicarage in North Curry with Surgery, Pub, Village Shop/PO and Primary School nearby.
