The Development Officer role is to support with financial administration tasks including:
- Responsibility for relationship management of an existing portfolio of approximately 80 private donors and 60 Trusts.
- Identify and engage new donors to add to this portfolio over time. Information provided initially.
- Liaise with the Director of Finance and Operations throughout the process of identification, cultivation, engagement, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship of major donors and institutional donors.
- Draft donor reports and proposals for funding.
- Complete research on potential individual and institutional donors, including foundations and corporate giving programs.
- Complete due diligence for donors and donor prospects.
- Track donations received and update databases in coordination with the Director of Finance and Operations.
- Develop creative ideas and approaches for donor communications, especially grassroots crowdfunding.
- Publicise the work of the Charity, including distribution of the Annual Report;
- Develop new partnerships.
This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be required as determined by the needs of the Charity. The role is home-based with initial training in Timsbury and reports to the Director of Finance and Operations.
It is expected that the work undertaken for each post will take up to three hours per week on average. The payment will depend on the capability and experience of the successful applicant; payment at the agreed hourly rate, will be payable on receipt of a monthly invoice detailing work undertaken and hours spent.
Initially work will be undertaken at the Director of Operation’s personal office in Timsbury during mutually agreed daytime hours but as the individual becomes familiar with the work home working will become the norm.
We are seeking someone with good inter-personal skills, familiarity with office-based IT applications and is supportive of the Charity’s mission.
