Developing Chaplaincy in the Church of England

The Diocese of Bath and Wells is part of a network of Church of England Diocesan and Sector Chaplaincy leads.

We explore ways in which chaplaincy can be supported and can develop within the Church of England, looking at vision and strategy, vocation and training, funding and deployment.

We met on 9 November 2023.  The Archbishop of York, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell joined us and his keynote address is here.  Below are papers which we prepared for the day.  We continue to work as a group and with colleagues and partners to explore how we can best support and develop chaplaincy within the mixed ecology of the Church of England.
