Year of prayer resources

Throughout 2026 more information and resources will be added to this page of useful resources. If you have found anything particularly helpful in your prayer life, please do let us know, or pop a comment on our online noticeboard. Feel free to add your photos and stories about prayer to the noticeboard too, for the benefit of others.

Our diocesan prayer for growth and transformation

Loving God
You alone bring growth to your Church and transformation to our communities.
We give thanks for the ways in which you are already at work in our lives and world.
As we look to the future, send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning,
wisdom to our actions, and grace in living and telling your story.
Help our churches to grow in commitment to you, in numbers and diversity,
and in partnership with our local communities in all that gives life,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Lent 2026 - and learning about prayer

We have been asked about Lent Courses. We don't offer a 'diocesan' Lent Course because contexts vary so much. However, if you are looking for courses that fit the prayer and the Lord's Prayer focus then you might want to take a look at the following for Lent or indeed at any point in the year.

Sharing stories and promoting prayer where you are

We will be tagging stories about prayer and any news on resources or events throughout the year on the diocesan social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, using #YearofPrayer. Do feel free to tag us on any stories you are sharing about prayer where you are and e-mail prayer@bathwells.anglican.org, give us a call or post your prayers, pictures.

We've also set up a 2026 Prayer online noticeboard for the Year of Prayer, hosted on Padlet, and it would be great if you could share any pictures of stories about prayer in your context on there. Not only will it build a rich picture of the year of prayer, but it may also inspire others.

Feel free to use the prayer hands graphic in any prayer activities you are holding throughout the year.
