Bishop Robert Mumbi visits Wellington

Exciting news when Bishop Robert visited St Giles Church on Zambia Sunday!

It was a special service on Sunday 24th at St Giles Church in Bradford-on-Tone, part of the Wellington Team Ministry.

"It was really lovely to worship alongside Bishop Robert and Joy in St Giles church especially as it was Zambia Sunday!" says June Best. "Members of my family had come especially, as had some members of the congregation. Bishop Robert made the announcement, after the service was over, that he will make me an Honorary Canon of St Michael and All Angels Cathedral in Chipili, in Luapula Diocese."

June has been a driving force of the Wellington link with Mwenda, in Luapula Diocese, and was surprised earlier this year to receive an email from Bishop Robert offering her the position. He wrote, “You have been so instrumental in the link with Mwenda.” You can read more about June's Mwenda connection here

Refreshments were served in church, where people could talk to both Bishop Robert and Joy. Lunch at St John's Church Wellington followed.

Bishop Robert and Joy were then treated to a trip to Hestercombe Gardens where they had tea with June and Christine and Ken Winhall before heading abck to Wells.
