Teaching

The resources on this page offer practical guidance for preaching and teaching about generosity and stewardship. They also address some of the common anxieties people feel when talking about money in church. As a diocese, we believe that honesty, invitation and communicating our vision and hopes for the church in its community are essential. These tools are designed to help you speak confidently and graciously about God’s generosity and how we can respond to it together.

Small groups can be a really good way of teaching about generosity. Teaching happens as we grow together, each listening and learning from each other, and sparking ideas within conversation. These conversations help us to articulate what we think about faith and giving within a group of people we trust.

There are plenty of small group materials exploring giving, generosity and gratitude, which can help guide these conversations.
