Cornerstone

Cornerstone is a free resource for Church of England churches, developed by the National Giving Team.  In addition to providing useful financial insights about your parish and a selection of pathways to follow, to help you put your giving and funding plans into action, it provides a comprehensive database of over 800 grant funders, which can be filtered according to the type, scale and core aims of your project.

Watch an introductory video, explaining each of the three main features of the Cornerstone platform, below.

More information about the platform, including some walk through videos for new users, can be found on the National Church website

To gain access to this free resource, simply email givingteam@bathwells.anglican.org, confirming your parish name, along with the names and email addresses of all PCC members and fundraisers who intend to use it.

How we can help

While the Giving and Funding team are happy to provide access to Cornerstone’s free grant funding database and can offer some advice regarding shortlisting of potential grant funders, we do not have the capacity, nor is it good practice for us, to write applications on behalf of parishes.  We believe that you are the experts on your project and your church context and, therefore, are best placed to tell the story of how your church building, congregation and community will be positively impacted by your proposed activities.  Having said this, our Lead Giving and Funding Adviser is available to review and help refine your draft applications prior to submission.

Who to contact

The Giving and Funding team can offer further information and support to help you make the most of Cornerstone. You can book book an appointment or email email:givingteam@bathwells.anglican.org and select Getting Started with Cornerstone from the list of services when prompted. Alternatively, for specific advice about grant funding for your project, please select the Grant Funding Advice option.
