Treasurer training sessions 2025
Talking church money matters
For treasurers and all those with some responsibility for managing church finances. Archdeaconry Church Money Matters gatherings will take place:
- Wells Archdeaconry 10:00 to 13:00 on Friday, 23 May at Flourish House, Wells
Further sessions planned for later in the year:
- Bath Archdeaconry (14:00 to 17:00 on Monday, 15 September)
- Taunton Archdeaconry (18:00 to 21:00 on Tuesday, 14 October).
Natalie Wainwright, Lead Giving and Fundraising Adviser says, “The sessions will provide a space for Treasurers and others to look at the financial challenges we are facing, share hopes and successes with those facing similar challenges, and find out more about the range of resources available to help. The sessions are ideal for new Treasurers in particular and will be a great opportunity to meet members of the Giving and Funding and Finance teams."

Cashbook and Parochial Fees Training
A useful resource for PCC Treasurers is the Diocesan Cashbook, which you can download on the Diocesan Cashbook page. We have held training on the simple Diocesan Cashbook for Receipts and Payments accounts, and for those who are more experienced in Cashbook. The notes from our Cashbook New Users Training can be downloaded below and we now have a small number of Treasurers who are able to support new users.
We have also held a training session on Parochial Fees – the presentation is downloadable below. Further courses on Cashbook or Fees could be arranged on request; if you are interested, please contact Yvonne Thompson.
Association of Church Accountants & Treasurers (ACAT)
The Association of Church Accountants and Treasurers (ACAT) also holds local training workshops at regular intervals, often in or near the Diocese. Details and booking forms for these meetings will be put on our website and in the Treasurers’ Newsletter. Membership of ACAT is available for an annual fee.
