Diocesan Board of Education (DBE)

The composition of the Board of Education for this diocese is:

1. The diocesan bishop or a delegated representative
2. Two persons nominated by the diocesan bishop
3. The diocesan Director of Education
4. Education Department staff representative
5. Four or more persons co-opted by the Board
6. Eight persons approved by diocesan synod through the Bishop’s Council.  Of these:
7. at least two must be clerks in holy orders, beneficed or licensed in the diocese
8. at least one must be a headteacher of a primary school judged to be ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and SIAMS inspectors
9. at least one must be a headteacher of a secondary school judged to be ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and SIAMS inspectors
