Family Max 2024

18th June 2024

Last weekend the Go Team hosted their annual Family Max day where clergy families from across our diocese gathered together at the Mendip Activity Centre. With thanks to The Clergy Support Trust, all eight of the families that made it were able to attend at a subsided cost.

Tobogganing down the dry slope went down a treat, it was great to see both the children and the parents having lots of races. The day also included Archery Active, snacks around the campfire and some woodland bug hunting.

Sharing lunch together also provided an opportunity for people to connect with each other.

One member of clergy who was there explains that “clergy families face many challenges that only other clergy families ‘get’.”

One aim of Family Max is to show our clergy families how valued they are and provide a space for some relaxed family fun.

The Go Team are looking forward to next year and it seems like the clergy families are too:

“thanks so much Go Team for a really special day together. It was lovely to spend time with you all and the other clergy families. My kids absolutely loved it!” Rev Matt Vaine, Bath

“our two girls absolutely love this event and as a family it is so beneficial to attend something that we are not planning/organising or leading.” Rev Dan Crouch, Yeovil

“It is also tremendous value for money given how significantly it is subsidised.”
