Praying through Lent - a new resource is now available

A collection of simple daily ideas to help you pray through Lent has been put together by the Go Team. Each week focuses on one of the six petitions of the Lord’s Prayer and from Monday to Saturday there’s a daily Bible reading and prayer prompt to take with you through the day. The resource can be used by churches, schools, families and individuals as part of our Diocesan Year of Prayer.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 18 March and the resource contains ideas for an introductory session for youth groups, small groups or families that could be used on the first Sunday of Lent or as part of a Pancake Party. The daily readings and thoughts begin on Monday 23 February running through to Holy Saturday on the 4 April.

Go Team Adviser, Andy Levett explained, “Our Praying through Lent resource is a simple way for people of all ages and stages of faith to pray their way through Lent this year. Pausing to pray and then carrying that prayer into whatever we are doing each day. We’d love to hear how the resource is used and the impact it has as we join together in prayer this Lent.”
