People from across the diocese come together for the Everyday Faith gatherings

4th February 2023

Today, people from across Somerset gathered together in three venues for the Everyday faith gatherings, the conclusion of our week focused on Everyday Faith. The three in-person gatherings in each Archdeaconry took place in secondary schools around our diocese including Taunton Academy, The Blue School, Wells and Wellsway School, Keynsham.

Throughout the week we have considered Everyone, Everywhere Growing in Faith; focusing on the themes of Growth, Rhythms, Others, Word, Together and Hope. Today was everyone an opportunity to reflect on the week and to celebrate together.

Claire Phillips who attended the gathering in Taunton said she had enjoyed the opportunity to meet with others to talk about and discuss faith together, “It was really great to meet so many different people, people with whom we don’t normally get together. It was a good opportunity to share our faith.”

Her thoughts were echoed by Kathryn Tucker who said, “It was great to be with fellow Christians, to share our faith and to have hope for the future.

Each venue was hosted by our Archdeacons, with a time of sung worship, an opportunity to hear words from 1 Peter 1: 3-12, time in discussion and prayer.
Our week concluded by reflecting on the word Hope, with everyone in attendance  encouraged to take away sunflower seeds to act as seeds of hope and a reminder of the week.

The video below captures some of the highlights from each gathering. More photos from each of the events can be seen on the Bath and Wells Facebook page.
