From now until the end of April we want to hear the views of people from different contexts across the diocese. Find out how you can take part.

People from right across Bath and Wells are being asked to share how we are living and telling the story of Jesus. This will help us see how we are living out our diocesan vision, wherever we are and whatever our context.

Bishop Michael kicked off the discussion, hosting three Zoom sessions in the week commencing 31 January at which he shared some of his thinking and introduced how we can work on refreshing the vision together.

Bishop Michael explains, “As your relatively new bishop, I want to hear from you about how you are living and telling the story of Jesus in your context, whether in a church, a school, a chaplaincy or any other community. This will help us all to see how we are living out our diocesan vision and how we can best do that together.

“Since I have joined you, I have noticed a number of areas that seem crucial to growing in faith together within our communities. We will be asking everyone a number of questions around those areas of focus and I will be interested to hear your stories and comments on them. I’d love as many voices from as many places as possible to take part so do join in if you can.”

Individuals and groups will be able to share their thoughts and experiences using an online form which will be available from Monday, 6 February. Further Zoom sessions to facilitate discussion about the diocesan vision are planned for March. Find out more about the consultation.

The consultation stage will close on 30 April. The responses will be collated and reviewed enabling next steps to be decided in the light of all the different voices that have been heard.
