St Andrew’s Church in Burhham-on-Sea hosts a 'Thursday Open to All Service’. It is a demential friendly event attended by different members of the Burnhan community. This week they were joined by Bishop Michael.
Set up as a simple way of offering connection, the Winter Warmer Lunches offer care, and support to people in their community during the colder months. Since autumn 2012, the lunches have provided not just a warm meal, but also a space for conversation, and companionship.
On shrove Tuesday St Paul's Kewstoke, celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their coffee morning with pancakes and prosecco. And in Peasdown the women's coffee morning also marked over a decade of support for women in their community.
The PCC of All Saints and St Saviour, Weston-Super-Mare, recently enjoyed a session with Deanery and Parish Development Adviser, Claire Horton, as part of their Lent exploration Growing Good.
The community of St Catherine’s Church, Montacute, has been told by experts that it may be home to one of the oldest working timepieces in the country, follow a recent assessment that dates its clock back to the 1400s. Originally believed to have been made in the 1600s, around the time of the Reformation, the clock’s historical significance was uncovered during a restoration assessment in 2024.
Thanks to funding from the Church of England National Justice Fund, the diocese has appointed Anira Khokhar as Racial Justice Consultant to help the diocese explore issues around racial justice. Wells Cathedral has also benefited from funding, allowing them to continue their work looking into and responding to its historic legacy of the transatlantic slavery.
Clergy met for a wellbeing day this week (13 March) to reflect on preventive and restorative support.

Bishop Michael has sent a message to the diocese with the details of Bishop Ruth’s farewell service. Bishop Ruth’s last service in Bath and Wells will be the Chrism Eucharist on the Tuesday of Holy Week, at which she will preach.
Each year, on the first Friday of March, Christians from all over the world celebrate the World Day of Prayer and this year, the World day of Prayer focus for St Michael's, St Andrew's and St Peters' in Minehead was on the Cook islands in the Pacific.
What began as a simple idea to create a community garden has now grown into something much more and is playing an important role in community wellbeing.
The Warm Space St Francis Church, Bridgwater has been so successful that it is still running long after its planned closing date. The Warm Space, runs alongside a thriving Toddler Group and a Youth Night the team being held at St Francis'.
Knights Templar Community Church School in Watchet received a special visit from Gemma Hunt. Gemma is best known for her role as Pirate Gem in the BAFTA winning CBeebies programme Swashbuckle.

On Sunday, 2 March Bishop Michael joined in the celebrations to mark the 40-year anniversary of Crook Peak United Parish at St Gregory’s in Weare. The service marked the culmination of a month of celebrations across the parish’s six churches, which together raised over £1,000 for good causes.

Downing Street has announced today that Bishop Ruth is to become the new suffragan Bishop of Wigan in the Diocese of Liverpool and to serve as the Interim Bishop of Liverpool.
