Bishop Michael has written to people across the diocese asking them to share their views on the recruitment of the next Bishop of Taunton.
God’s generosity can be witnessed in the most unexpected ways and places
More than 120 people working to look after the environment across the Church of England gathered at the headquarters of the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge to share ideas and learnings.
“Our calling as God’s people in these days that we have been given to live in is not to be people of denial or despair but people of hope. Hope is one of the great Christian virtues that we are called to live out,” said Bishop Michael at March's Diocesan Synod

On Shrove Tuesday St Paul's Kewstoke, celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their coffee morning with pancakes and prosecco. And in Peasedown the women's coffee morning also marked over a decade of support for women in their community.

The community of St Catherine’s Church, Montacute, has been told by experts that it may be home to one of the oldest working timepieces in the country, follow a recent assessment that dates its clock back to the 1400s. Originally believed to have been made in the 1600s, around the time of the Reformation, the clock’s historical significance was uncovered during a restoration assessment in 2024.
Thanks to funding from the Church of England National Justice Fund, the diocese has appointed Anira Khokhar as Racial Justice Consultant to help the diocese explore issues around racial justice.
