SIAMS school inspections

In accordance with Section 48 of the Education Act 2005, all Church of England schools are subject to the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under the schedule provided by the Church of England Education Office.

The new SIAMS Inspection Schedule took effect from January 2019. The full self-evaluation form and  shorter audit tool are available to download below.

Our schools advisers are here to help with any matters relating to SIAMS and in particular to support schools as they move forward and address the key issues arising from inspection. We also offer regular training events as part of our CPD programme for teachers and governors. The diocese has carried out all necessary checks on serving inspectors.

The team are now offering mid – term SIAMS health checks. Please contact contact Pauline Dodds for more information.

Examples of good practice

St Mark’s Church School in Worle, which is a joint Anglican and Methodist church school, received a visit from the Director of Education for the Methodists Schools who praised the schools website and how clearly it provided evidence against the SIAMS framework. For inspiration and to see how they have achieved this, you can look at their website.
